Anthropomorphy & the PENTAGRAM

The pentagon is another relavant shape in the iconography of the human body as symbol of harmony, in the meeting between the natural world and ideal geometries {Bertol 2017). The pentagram - a five-pointed star inscribed in the pentagon - is also associated to ideal human proportion. Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa's iconic illustration De occulta philosophia libri tres shows a human body whose limbs are outstretched toward the points of a pentagram. Each pentagram's vertex points to an astrological sign.
